Hi

We just had a second set of twins and feel so lucky, but I want to know what you drive and how much laundry you do? I assume you only do white socks but how do you do it? I also do child care on the side. My first set were wonderful and I am lucky enough to get to it again. But you, three sets, WOW. You are very blessed and I am sure you are very scheduled.

Have a nice day

I have 2 sets of twins = 6 kids. Sorry to say, I won't be catching up.

Althou I was reading a thread on tubals, someone knew a lady who had 6 kids and a tubal and then got pg again. So I guess anything is possible. Just shows how not in control of our lives we are.

And I thought I "had my hands full" (LOL!) w/ my 5. I have a 5 yr old, 4 yr old b/g twins and 16 mo old b/b twins and I feel incredibly blessed. I have found having twins a second time to be quite easy but having 5 who are 5 and under (at one time 5 under 5) pretty challenging. I love having a big family and I must say the thought of trying again has crossed my mind but my family and the world around me would freak! I think if I were to try for another and just had a singleton I might feel a tad disappointed?!?! Your family is really beautiful and you must be amazing!

Wow!! 11 kids. I'm sorry to say this out loud. We just saw Cheaper By The Dozen and now my 8 year old wants me to have 12 kids. How do you do it? You most be the must organized Mom on the block. How do you stay level headed? My big girls are like the girl in the movie who came up with the ideas. They are always into something.

Injury....got to go!

I had my last u/s at 18 weeks and SURPRIZE !! Two more girls (makes 5)!! Well they did tell me that they are not 100% sure at this time, but I am!!! I love my girls and whatever I was meant to have!!! Ya see I had cancer when I was a pre-teen and I was told that the treatments I recieved would dammage my ovaries. After a couple miscarriages and a tubal pregnancy I had Samantha(8). Then 9 miscarriages later Sophie(2), One in between Sophie and Alexis(1) and now twins. After all we have lotts of love!! I am just scared!! I had pre-term labor with both Sophie and Alexis. All my girls were c-sections the first because I never dialated. I don'twant my babies to be too tiny and I try not to worry!!! I am not really a worrier, Its just always there ya know? Just too many horror stories.

I am glad to hear that you are doing fine just still take it easy. I was very sadden to hear of your other losses, I am sorry I also had a few miscarrages [3] one was at almost 4 months that was hard the others were much earlier. I just belive it happened for a reason, because God gave me many more to take care of. I hope all goes well for you and your family.

I am just amazed. I could never do what you ladies do! 5 kids is my limit for sure! I do have a funny story though, thought you'd like. We were with some friends playing "catch phrase". (If you haven't played, it's like Taboo where you have to guess the phrase) The men played against the ladies. One of the husbands had to give clues for his phrase. These were his clues:
1. it's a 3 word phrase
2. it's what you do when the baby wakes up in the middle of the night

My husband blurts out "slit your wrists"! We laughed so hard I can't even remember what the real answer was.

Wow- so many kids. What a blessing. My only question is how do you afford it. I think it is tough with 2. Any suggestions on dealing with the finances. I always swore I wouldn't have anymore because of the expenses. I would love to have that many kids but how expensive?

Wow- so many kids. What a blessing. My only question is how do you afford it. I think it is tough with 2. Any suggestions on dealing with the finances. I always swore I wouldn't have anymore because of the expenses. I would love to have that many kids but how expensive?

It's not about how expensive it is, it's about priorities. I have 6 kids and every year we do something to the house to make it work for a wheelchair. We survive on the income of a correction officer and are able to send Michal to private school. We don't go to movies, but we rent a lot of movies. We don't go out to eat a lot, but we try to once a month. We don't buy big toys like boats, motorbikes, waverunners, or cabins, the kids are to small to enjoy them anyways. Our kids don't have all the computer games, but they have great imaginations. We don't take big trips around the country, we do family things like camping at other family member's homes. We have a reliable van and truck, but only one car payment, we'll wait and buy another new used truck when the other one is paid off. We don't buy things unless it is needed and it's a good deal.

But the biggest thing is to be happy with what you have. Once I learned that it was a lot easier to do. And it's so much fun going to rummage sales....Wow.... I thought I'd never say that out loud.

If you say you won't have more kids until you can afford it it will never happen. It's kind of like what Dr. Phil says about his diet program .....in order for it to work you have to make a life style change, and I have to say it was a good change for me.

I have just been so busy here, I just had our daughters birthday and I had also just gone and picked about 50 lbs of strawberries. UUUUMMMMMMMM I love strawberries. Ha Ha!!!! Lurking...

Thank you so much for all this great info about how to make it "work" having large families!!! I joined Siobhan's Yahoo group, even though I'm still only a "large family with multiples" in spirit... We are pregnant with #s 2 and 3, I hope to have 8 (or whatever God wants us to have) when all is said and done. I'd LOVE to have another set of twins!!! (Says she who hasn't yet gone through that first year, haha...)

It's been hard to convince dh that we would ever be able to "afford" that many children. Thank God I found this thread today and got to read some of your posts to him. We are very impressed at Mrs. Q's post, describing living off of one correctional officer's income, and the things they changed to make that work. I was excited to see that we live like that already, so it won't be hard for him to welcome more babies, especially as each year more of our giant debt load gets paid off, leaving more income for us to "breathe" with...

Again, thank you, ladies, I admire you all. I pray I can join you officially before long!

I am not a mother of multiple multiples :) but I have a question. I hope nobody is offended by this question either...it's not meant to be. Did all of you have twins naturally...as in no fertility drugs or help? Do twins run in your families? My husband and I just had twins and it was a HUGE suprise since neither of us have twins in our families. We wanted to have six kids, but now we are afraid this might happen again...which won't be all that bad because we love kids...just frightening. Not sure we can handle six kids that young. We don't plan on having anymore until these twins are atleast two years old.

All you mothers are amazing. Know you are blessed by God!

hello, I have not been on in a while, but it looks like this forum is finally getting some notice! We just had our 6th baby and we finally feel complete! So my husband is getting a vac so we can now focus on the raising part instead of the pregnant/birthing part! We just counted up how much of my marriage I was pregnant-have you guys ever done that? We had twins then 22 months later a single, two years later twins and finally two & 1/2 years later a single! We have maxed out the seating in our ford excursion and on our dining room set! We homeschool and would love to meet up with another family of mostly small members (our oldest are now 7) in our area. We get out quite a bit but are sometimes overwhelmed by (mostly) good people with alot of questions! I am realistic in that I know our baby loving attitude is rare, but I have not lost all hope yet. We are in san diego-just in case somebody is in our area- do you all stay home? any homeschoolers? what cars fit your bunch?do we all spend alot on groceries? well I think thats enough for now! bye-o

We had ours naturally. My husbands side has never had a twin birth-not that it would matter because it is the mother who releases the right amount of eggs to be fertilized. I have twins on my mothers side (lots!) but in the off chance that it would matter, I also have twins on my fathers side! I guess
it didn't hurt! We also spaced our children about two years apart-it worked out for us!Congrats on your babies!

hi!
Iwould like to know If I can have anyones stories.. If you look around I posted this on all of the boards.. but I know that most of the mom of multiples and more multiples don't have much time.
I am tring to get a larger or small collection of stories for other moms to be of multiples. I would like to make copies and give them to moms that are in the hospital on bedrest. Give them some hope. I know that I would have enjoyed it.

Thank YOu for any stories!

You are all awesome! :D

I have a set of identical boy twins- 13 months. We want to wait a couple of years, but we really would like to have another set of twins. Is there anything one can do to increase their chances of having another set naturally?

twinmom3xs

Hey there, Wow lots of good stories and questions.
Well I will start on the ages apart once we had Kaylee 19 months later Andrea, 20 months later Olivia and Daniel, 27 months later Erica and Alex finally another 22 months later our Nicole and Tony. So in 7years and 4 months we had eight kids.Whew! [ we had two miscarrages between the first set and the second set]
All of our twins were naturally concieved. All were born natural, a few I had an epidural. All were born girl/boy all were in the same place as in the girls were on the right and the boys were on the left.
We DO NOT come from a line of twins although we do have two sets in the distant family but they are from marriage not family. My Grandmas brothers wife had twins. Robs uncles wife had identical twins.
I have been searching the web for some real postive percentages in the twin life.
The odds of having identical twins twice are 1 in 70,000.
The odds of having more than two sets of any twins is 1 in 500,000.
These odds are unconfirmed from the source that I found but it was their best guess. Although there were not other factors like are you from a twin family?
The only factor I know that really increases your chances of having twins is either a family background of twins or good old age, the older the more often it happens. Race also plays an important role colored people have the highest rates then whites and asian are the least most likely to have twins.

I have to go it is real late so good night. Check out my group there are new pics coming soon and some added.

I only have one set of twins but my dad comes from a family with 3 sets of twins (and 8 total children). I don't know how Grandma did it.

It's been fun for my dad to watch twin boys grow up since he is also a twin boy. We only had one baby the second time around. not following in Grandma's footsteps. Good luck to you all

Hi!
This is a great chat room. We have older identical boy twins (10) and are expecting identical girl twins in early november. We will have 7 children under the age of 6 and have had them all naturally. We also homeschool our children. We drive a red 15 pass ford van (love it) that we have just had to buy a cargo carrier for in order to hold the double stroller(s). I was wondering how many moms have had their twins through envitro? Seems like most moms in our multiples club have all had envitro and that the natural born twins are becoming outnumbered. I am hopeful that the second set of twins will be easier than the first! I would like 12 children and I guess if we had a set of b/g twins next that would just about be perfect!

All I can say is WOW. Isn't God a funny God!!! I am new to the Twins Message Board and I can't get enough. What a relief to hear that there are other mamas and daddys going thru the same thing we are.
Short background. My husband and I had been married for 3 months & on the pill & surprise Valentines Day we found out we were pregnant - A week later we found out it was Twins. I was 22 and clueless. When Caleb and Cody were 2 we tried again and right away we were pregnant again with another boy, Cameron. When Cameron was 2 1/2 we were building a house and thought that we would go for 4 and maybe get a girl - After we moved in ....WELL.... We brought Carson and Caroline home the day we moved in our new home they were 10 days old. They are now 16 months and what a JOY. There are diffently HARD days but far more Wonderful days. Just remember God doesn't give us any more than we can handle - I have to remind myself that sometimes more than once a day.
Goodnight.

It was so nice to read all the entries from some many amazing moms. You are out there. I have three beautiful girls, Kaylie 5 and Madison and Taylor are 2.5. We are expecting twins in October. I have felt blessed from the beginning, I love being a mom. Yet you get so many negative responses from other people. It was inspiring to read your stories. Your children are very lucky to have you!!! I look forward to checking back!! God Bless!!

It's called "Baby Baby" on the Discover Health Channel. They always play 2 episodes back-to-back and it shows how different families deal with multiples and many on the show have a second set of multiples. The show is based out of England and just started airing. I'm only a "one-timer" of identical boys, and I'm too old to do this again! Maybe if I were in my twenties! God Bless all of you! They say God only gives you what you can handle. You ladies must be extraordinary women!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I have 6 kids (only 2 sets of twins thou). We drive a 15 passenger van. They have 4 bench seats. My DH meet a dad with the same van (at the gas station, go figure) and he had a set of Quads and 2 singletons. He said it was the only van that could fit the car seats.

I love our van it works great!

Is there anything one can do to increase their chances of having another set naturally?
Hi, here's the answer to your question.
go to the doctor and see how many eggs you ovulate a month and that will determine what your chances are again. it all has to do with how many you ovulate in a month more than one egg increases your chances of having twins again.

Hi ladies,

I don't feel so unique anymore .... thought having 3 sets of twins was so rare, but it's great to see that lots of twin families have more than one set! We're all closed in doors while tropical storm FAY swirls over us, and over and over, dumping rain, creating massive winds and spawning several tornadoes in our area. The kids have been home from school for three days and only started the new school year last Thursday! I have twin girls that are 13, I have a boy/girl set of twins that are 8, and lastly, my twin baby boys are 10 months. Yes, nice big gaps between pregnancies! Still, it's a busy, never-boring life! :)

Hmmm. my name is Julie and have been married for six years. My mom had two sets of twins and my grandmother is a twin. I am the youngest and her only singleton. I turned 31 last week and found out we were pregnant with twins (and I have 11 month old triplets). I did have a miscarriage 4 years ago which put us off trying for babies for awhile. The triples and our twins on the way were conceived naturally - altho I have to say I hope the twin pregnancy is easier than my triplets were. I was so sick.

Hi I don't have 2 sets of twins, but I have 9 kids. I lost one too. I so desperatly want another set of twins and am trying to find information one how to up my odds. I have twin brothers and cousins, but other then that I am just hoping my age will add to having another set. To the ones who had twins naturally god bless you. I so wish I could of had that chance. I heard eatting pumpkins help you conceive twins, but I don't know if that is true or not, but I thought of giving it a try. Would love to hear from anyone.
