TWINS™ Magazine Writer's Guidelines and Policies

TWINS™, The Magazine for Parents of Multiples since 1984, is a bimonthly, international consumer publication providing informational and educational articles & useful tips on parenting twins, triplets and higher order multiples.

• TWINS™ accepts queries for features and shorter stories that are useful for parents of twins, triplets & higher order multiples. We will accept queries from unpublished writers but give priority to experienced, published writers.
• Submissions for columns & departments should be about 650 words. Feature articles should be no longer then 950 words.
• Articles should be written in a friendly, conversational style. Please study our format before starting an article and conform to AP style.
• All articles must include parenting guidance and resources and be geared to twins & multiples.
• TWINS™ Magazine works about three months ahead of time so please send any materials on future content well in advance.
• Please send queries by mail to TWINS™ Queries, TWINS™ Magazine, 5748 S College Ave, Unit D, Fort Collins CO 80525-4917 USA. Or e-mail twinseditor@twinsmagazine.com. Include a resume and writing samples (published clippings). Please indicate if you are interested in feature assignments. If you'd like your samples returned, include a SASE.
• With your published article you receive a byline with your article and one complimentary copy of the magazine upon publication.
• Please include a short author biography including the month and year in which your multiples were born, if applicable.
• When submitting an assigned article, please send it by e-mail as a " Word.doc file attachment, and also embed the text in the body of the e-mail, for cross-referencing to the editor of TWINS™ Magazine. You may also submit your article on a CD by mail. (CDs cannot be returned.)
• Please be sure to include complete references, including the year and publisher of any books cited in the article or sidebar. Double check all facts. We also will verify phone numbers and Web site addresses.
• TWINS™ Magazine purchases First North American Serial Rights. Any images sent via mail or email to the magazine are the property of TWINS Magazine and you are giving your permission and releasing your rights to this photo. No professional photos will be accepted, unless photographer has given explicit release of those rights for our use.
• To obtain a review copy of TWINS™ Magazine, send $6 to Subscriber Services at the above address.
